Classic Americana! (5 stars) Yes it's true only one member of The Band is American, but this album portrays the heart and soul of America like few artists. There is something so organic about this album. It's almost like this album came straight out of the hills,fields and rivers of an America that few people know. This album has it all, great muscianship, stunning songwriting and of course some timeless works of rock and roll. This is probably one of the most important Truly a Classic (5 stars) A great album with some classic numbers. Ironic that a remarkable collection of American roots music was created by a band of mostly Canadians. Actually, it shouldn't matter where their nationality lies, this is just some fine song writing, playing, and singing. A must have. Timeless (5 stars) The Band is a group that was popular during their heyday but over the period between their breakup and into the 21st century fell into somewhat of an obscurity. The reason: they were never a really "marketable" enterprise and they never really produced "pop" singles.
